Made by Hardy Bros.

First appearing in their 1934 Hardy's Angler's Guide is the Hardy Neroda fly box. This Bakelite (the first synthetic plastic) box was an improvement over the previously made Japanned tin fly boxes. Box measures 6 1/8 x 4 x 1 inch. The Neroda box continued to be in the Hardy catalogues until the late 1960's. This particular box has the "tortoiseshell" finish on the exterior. The interior has steel plates and has 7 rows of 10 “holdtite” finger clips on one side and 7 rows of 7 on the other side. Very good condition. sold
