8', 3/2 Calcutta cane, 8 strip construction fly rod. Crafted between 1890 and 1900. The cork grip is made of 1/8 inch cork rings and has a very typical Landman winding check. The Landman Aug 19, 1890 patent was granted for the locking mechanism reel seat which has nickel silver rings over ivoroid insert with spiraled groove. English twist snake guides wrapped in Chinese red silk tipped with black with full intermediates. The ferrules are seamed and soldered with the copper bottomed male ferrules. The rod is in excellent original condition. This rod appears in Jeffery Hatton's book, Rod Crafting on pages 112-113. not available
