Made by Hardy Bros.

First appearing in their 1934 Hardy's Angler's Guide is the Hardy Neroda fly box. This Bakelite (the first synthetic plastic) box was an improvement over the previously made Japanned tin fly boxes. Box measures 6 1/8 x 4 x 1 1/4 inches. The Neroda box continued to be in the Hardy catalogues until the late 1960's. This particular box has the "tortoiseshell" finish on the exterior. The interior has steel plates with 20 fly hook clips per side. This box contains 25 salmon flies, several of which have jungle cock.  It is in very good condition. The nickel silver hinge with 3-screws per side, as well as the latch, is in very good condition; the box opens/closes easily but very securely when shut. sold
