Made by Hardy Bros.

First appearing in their 1934 Hardy's Angler's Guide is the Hardy Neroda fly box. This Bakelite (the first synthetic plastic) box was an improvement over the previously made Japanned tin fly boxes. Box measures 6 1/8 x 4 x 3/4 inch. The Neroda box continued to be in the Hardy catalogues until the late 1960's. This particular box has the "tortoiseshell" finish on the exterior and the rare 'pipe-cleaner' interior; the flies hook over the chenille covered bars and don't move, drop out, or change position. This box is a scarce find and great for the avid fisherman who loves the history of the sport and fine gear. It is in excellent condition and contains over 140 wet flies. The box opens and closes securely.  sold
