Repair & Restoration Services:

Repairing and refinishing of bamboo, fiberglass fishing rods using original guides, thread, ferrules, etc., when available. Graphite fabrication rod repairs

In order to provide excellent service and faster turnaround time, we have contracted with David A. Hanson, owner of Vintage On The Fly, LLC, to do many of our rod repairs. Dave can expertly scarf and re-wrap bamboo rod sections. Bamboo rod tip straightening is one of our specialties. Complete bamboo restoration can be done in 3 months or less. We can also fabricate, restore and repair fiberglass and graphite rods.

We can custom craft, fly, spinning or casting rods to your specifications.

Appraisal Policy / Online Evaluation

Due to the overwhelming number of requests for online identification and evaluation of vintage fishing tackle, the following is effective immediately.

Online evaluation will be provided for $30 for the first item and $25 for each additional payable by credit card only. You must provide the following information:

1. Digital images in jpg format.
2. Full description of items including bags and tubes for rods, including measurements of all sections. For reels and lures indicate if boxed and including paperwork. Any written identification, names, marks, model numbers, lengths, sizes and weights, is also helpful.

Written evaluations will be provided only after we physically examine the items. The price is $50 for the first item and $35 for each additional item. We will include a CD with images and description in addition to the written evaluation.

If we purchase appraised items or sell them on consignment, the fees will be waived
