8'6", 2/2 California builder taught by Gary Howells. This rod will cast a line weight 5/6. The rod weighs 4.7 oz. on our digital scale. Full wells cork grip. Down-locking reel seat with California locust wood insert. Brown thread wraps similar to Gary Howells although Al's warps were tipped in blue rather than gold. Wrapped duronze ferrules. Al built 40 hexagonal rods and 14 quad rods between 1974 and 1988. Includes original cloth bag and tube. Excellent condition. SOLD March 2012
